rice, and spicy sauce, I ventured over to the little market nearby and
found their chocolate section. Even though it was melty and gooey from
the heat, I managed to get all the milk chocolate goodness off the
foil and into my mouth. A second bar awaits me in the freezer for
after dinner.
Today with Amma, my host mother, I went to a local yoga center to
inquire about doing a course. For only 400 rupees, about $13, I will
have a 12 day yoga class from 6-8 am where they will teach me to get
in touch with my body, mid, and soul. I will probably start that a
week from Monday, and am very excited about that.
Also, we learned some Tamil today at dinner. While I'm sure my
spellings are wrong, I learned "serry" is "okay" (and is usually
accompanied by the head bobble), "vanakkam" is "hello", and "naandri"
is "thank you". These are the ones that I am most likely to use daily,
so I figured it would be good to learn them (even though I didn't
learn them until a week in... oops).
Tonight at 10, I will leave on a bus to Chennai with Jesse, Emanuel,
and a girl named Allison from Canada. We will visit Chennai and
Pondicherry this weekend and return home Monday morning early. Then, I
will immediately leave to go to a leprosy hospital for Monday and
Tuesday, before returning home Tuesday night. I'm sure that by that
time I will have quite a lot to talk about and can't wait to tell
about my adventures!
